The River Soča, which has a distinct emerald green colour, is considered to be one of the most beautiful rivers in Europe. Its water flows across waterfalls, and cascades through narrow rocky gorges.
Due to its emerald-green water, the river is called "The Emerald Beauty". It is said to be one of the rarest rivers in the world that retains such a colour throughout it's length.
The park rangers close the river in November and December so it can clean itself. It's source feeds the park wildlife, biodiversity and local communities.
Water is one of the most important commodities in the world.
The number and type of disciplines for each series is determined by the location and it's environment.
Series One started with one of the worlds longest rocket lines, followed by a 50km cycle, 30km run and finishing with a freezing white water raft down the Soča river rapids.
The art of a technical descent, dependant on the environment, is one of the most challenging techniques to master. Throw in the notoriously unpredictable Slovenian mountain weather, and the stage was set for tough series one launch.
You will see from the documentary that all players completed the series... with a few hiccups along the way.

Series One commenced on April 6, 2022 in aid of Atlantic Pacific .
On any given day in 2022, up to 110 refugee boats tried to cross the channel, 100’s of people died, including children. A new wave of migration was imminent, with the refugee crisis reaching new horrific proportions due to Ukrainian invasion and other civil unrests across the globe.
Atlantic Pacific is a charity with a very simple ambition, to end global drowning. As one of the planet's biggest killers, predominantly taking place in developing countries, and under resourced communities. Drowning is a cause of death that nobody deserves.
In under 8 weeks the players raised £50,000 for Atlantic Pacific.
